Sometimes diners crave a sure thing. They want to be able to walk into a restaurant and know exactly what to expect from the food, the service, and the experience as a whole, because they’ have already eaten at similar places. This is part of the appeal of everything from chain restaurants to fast casual eateries to greasy spoon diners that seem interchangeable no matter what city they are in.

To stand out from the common, cookie-cutter experience, a restaurant needs to have its own unique selling point, just like any other product or business. It needs to be able to excel in some area that other restaurants ignore or it needs to have something that sets it apart — something no one else offers.

Customization and personalization is the best way to achieve this. A great restaurant will either reflect the personality of the owner and/of chef or it will provide a one-of-a-kind experience to the diners that enter its doors. As a type of branding, the restaurant’s name, logo, or at the very least its theme should be evident in everything from the store sign to the tablecloths to the waiters uniform and the custom menu covers .

Even the food needs to evoke the theme or personality of the restaurant. Having a generic selection of American food is not unique. Having special recipes, presentations, and unusual ingredients will customize the food to match the restaurant. Or the restaurant can use the food as the foundation and customize the rest of the elements around it.

Virginia is famous for its different cuisines. The location of the state is perfect for a diverse menu of foods. With Virginia being near water it enables the selection of seafood to be better than many other states. Also, with Virginia being a southern state the style of slow cooked, soul food, and comfort foods are incorporated many times in different dishes. Virginia has a rich wine history as well with many different wineries that have been in existence for many years and creating award winning wines. Also, the agriculture is rich as well with many different fresh fruits and vegetables grown and harvested state wide.
The Eastern Shore and Chesapeake Bay is where the state’s best seafood is caught at. Some of the biggest and most delicious crabs are caught there daily. Many of these delicious crabs are then used as the main ingredient in a variety of different dishes. One of the most popular dishes is crab cakes the recipe is not too complicated. The area is also famous for its fresh oysters and everyday thousands of oysters are devoured at the various restaurants.
Smithfield Virginia is famous for its meats. “The ham capital of the world” is the title given to it because of the quality of the meat that comes from the area and the reputation it has earned through the country and the world. The cooking process is slow and detailed the end result is delicious and well worth the effort.
One thing that makes delicious meals complete is wine. Fortunately, Virginia has a great wine country as well. Thousands of people come to Virginia year round and take tours of different ciderys and wineries. Some of these wineries offer rooms for visitors to stay in while others do not. However, Virginia has many top notch, fully furnished, and affordable hotels to choose from. If you are interested in visiting VA ,and tasting some great foods and wines click here to find a room and get your Virginia vacation going.

Here it is, the moment we have all been waiting for. I have come to liberate the world of art from its deepest constraints, its inability to live in the present moment. Because it is always running behind, it does not have a hope of grabbing the train that will propel it into the future, and this makes me hopeless and feeling very strange. However, I will set foot in modern Singapore, the perfect place to begin a new artistic movement, and here, the restaurants have Italian that reminds me of my mother. It reminds me of how she made food, not exactly of her herself.

This is an auspicious beginning, and it reminds me that here, in Singapore, the food is fresh, and it is honest, and it tells the truth, because it is fresh. They have fresh food here unlike the preservatives that make one stale and tired, and this has always been this way. They understand that it is not absolutely necessary to have all the latest technologies to make our new futurism. This will be based on the extreme passions of the people in the past, and the magnifying lens is turned the other way toward the future, and suddenly this is us.

The future is us in Singapore, and Italy, and Columbia and even in Madagascar. We are a global community, and we need to remember this so we don’t start speaking in one language and assume we are understood. We are not understood, but we are genius. Although I do not understand the local futurism, or perhaps simply fail to grasp its applications toward an art based on our own energies and rhythms so that we can begin to take in life, and try to sell it somewhere for a better price than we paid for it.

Po’ Boys and crawfish, seafood jambalaya and red beans and rice, zydeco music and dancing. It is the time for the Fat Tuesday celebrations, and while Huntsville, Alabama is not in New Orleans, it is in the south. And there is no better region to be in right now than in the Southern region of the United States. There are many different traditions throughout the world that revolve around this holiday. One thing that they have in common is that it is a day in which to indulge a bit, before the upcoming fasts of Lent.

The Mardi Gras celebrations precede Ash Wednesday, and the celebrations include not only dancing and having fun, but getting the last little bit of rich and indulgent food in, before the following forty days of restrictions. In some countries this is also known as Pancake Tuesday. Donuts and pancakes are rich and sweet, and when one is looking at giving up the foods of pleasure for a while, of course they want to have a bit to carry them through.

In the Southern States of America, the food is rich, but it is spicy too. Crawfish festivals abound, and the old timers instruct the newbies on just how to squeeze the tail and suck the head. The celebrations in the smaller town of Huntsville, Alabama will be incredible, but much lower of a key than those that will be taking place in New Orleans, so many opt for this calmer way to celebrate. Many of the hotels will be offering travel and accommodation discounts, for a list of those check here. There will be feasts of Cajun food and local favorites, Dynamic Duo and Mambo Gris Gris will be playing Zydeco Music all night, and the dancing will carry on until far into the evening, the same Southern celebration of Fat Tuesday, without the crowds of people.

I do not like fishing so much. This began when I was just four years old, on the side of a lake, somewhere outside of Helena, Montana. It was my first time fishing, and I did not have to deal with the hook or the worm. My father got me set up and I just sat there holding on to the pole like the grown-ups did. I felt a tug on my line, yelled for my father and he helped me to reel in my catch, a little 5 inch trout, a catch that any of the grown-ups would have thrown back, but for a 4 year old girl, a 5 inch fish was quite something. I realized this until I was told that I would clean my own fish. I wasn’t sure about that, I wasn’t sure any longer of this whole fishing thing.

Years later, same story fishing of the boat in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. But for some reason, my father got it into his head that I enjoyed fishing and I found myself headed out to sea from our fine hotel in Tampa Bay, Florida. My father had found a great deal online at http://www.besttampahotels.com and while I was looking forward to the beach, not so much the deep sea fishing excursion he had also planned. We were assured by our captain, that we would find fish! as he had years of experience and a lineage to back it up. He told me that his name was Captain Ahab, but the glimmer in his led me to believe he was pulling my leg, telling me a whale of a tale.

Now, I do love eating seafood, I just do not particularly like catching it, but for my father and for our experience I put on my cap and my sunblock and we headed out to sea. Ours was an all day cruise, set to go just about thirty miles out, although shorter trips are available. In all, we came home with some sea bass, and 2 red snappers. As we left the boat my father was getting set up to have me clean the fish, but I noticed a stand where it was offered, for a minimal fee, convenient and quick cleaning. This is where I drew the line, for there was no way I was going back to the memory of my first experience with cleaning my 5 inch trout. That night we grilled out on the beach in front of our hotel. I was happy to be there, even thought the road had been a bit of a long one.

This recipe can be done with a no-frills approach, where the corn is placed, husk on, directly on the grill, and cooked on all sides until the husks are charred all over. Another option, and one that’s actually pretty fantastic, is to make elotes, a favorite for street vendors in Mexico. There are many different ways to master this particular taste, and it’s really unforgettable. Here you cook the corn without the husk, but save them, aiming for a dark brown to almost black color on the kernels. Load the husks with butter, and place the hot corn back into the husk, and roll for an even butter taste. You can also put salt and chile, lime juice, cotija cheese, or mayonnaise, in the husks for spectacular taste sensations.

For many years people have been sharing the meals with each other in the beautiful outdoors. Food cooked on grills just tastes better, and there is something cozy about sitting around a warm fire with family and friends. In recent years however, as people become increasingly more health conscious, questions have been raised about the links to grilling meat and various forms of cancer, most commonly colon and breast cancer. It is when the protein in meat heats up, carcinogens get released.

Some people have thought that this occurs only when the meat is charred and that by scraping off that char, they would be removing those carcinogens, but this is not true. Once they are there they cannot be removed. However, there are many ways in which one can go about not having them occur in the first place. One thing that scientists have discovered is that when grilling hamburgers, flip them often. By grilling over low heat and flipping the burgers each minute or so, the levels of the chemicals fall drastically.

Marinades play a large role in reducing the chemicals as well. It is best to water down thick, store packaged marinates, as using them full strength will many times serve to triple the levels. If one mixes just half a cup of soy protein into the meat, this will lower the toxicity levels by ninety five percent. Another item one can add to ground meat to lower the HCAs is vitamin E. Just one capsule from the vitamin bottle mixed in will lower the levels more that seventy percent.

And while some may not find this particular taste appealing, mixing in a cup of the dark antioxidant rich fruits such as blueberries or cherries into a pound of hamburger, more than ninety percent of the levels will be suppressed. These fruit burgers may not be all that for many people, so garlic, sage, and rosemary are a tasty alternative, and again the levels of the chemical carcinogens will be reduced when these herbs are added into the mix. Barbecue islands in outdoor kitchens have made these preparations easy and quick. It just takes a little bit of work to make the cooked meat safe, work that results in more savory grilled foods anyway.
